We welcome our new pastor Jose Luis Villasenor in July 2026.
Rev. José L. Villaseñor is an ordained Elder in The United Methodist Church and serves as pastor of Fiesta Cristiana, Duke’s Chapel UMC, and St. Paul UMC in the North Carolina Conference.
Originally from San Salvador, El Salvador, Pastor José has called North Carolina home since 2001. He earned his undergraduate degree in theology from Universidad Centroamericana “José Simeón Cañas” in San Salvador and his Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School in 2004.
Pastor José has a passion for building Christian community across cultures and creating spaces where all people can experience God’s grace, dignity, and belonging. Much of his ministry has centered on Latino and immigrant communities, community outreach, and helping congregations connect worship and discipleship with the needs of their neighbors. He believes the church is called not simply to gather on Sundays, but to embody God’s beloved community in the world.
Pastor José is married and the father of three children. Outside of ministry, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and cooking.
